A trial date has finally been set for a $1.5 million personal injury case involving Mississauga-based real estate company Morguard Corp. and one of its big shipping mall.
The jury trial for Monica James v. Morguard has been set for May 5, 2014, more than five years after the case was opened.
The suit involves a personal injury stemming from a motor vehicle accident at the real estate company’s Bramalea City Centre shopping centre.
At one point, the case was struck from the trial list. However, after two status hearings, a motion on notice and a pre-trial conference, the case was ordered to trial for next spring.
James is being represented by personal injury lawyer Andrew M. Lee.
Morguard, Hurley Corp. – a provider of janitorial services — and Bramalea City Centre Equities Inc. are all being represented by insurance defence lawyer Fiona M. Brown.
