Mississauga Board of Trade president and CEO has been elected to the board of directors at the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC).
“I am honoured and excited to serve in a strategic leadership role in this prominent and influential organization,” Leiba stated in a press release. “The Ontario Chamber has and continues to make significant contributions towards creating a stronger and more prosperous Ontario, and I take seriously this opportunity to help chart a bolder vision for our province.”
Prior to this position, Leiba served on the board of OCC from 2008-2010, when he was chair of the Chamber Executives of Ontario.
“Sheldon is a highly respected chamber manager and thought leader in the chamber network,” Ontario Chamber of Commerce president and CEO Allan O’Dette said in a statement. “He has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and our advocacy work, and we look forward to having him as part of the leadership of this, the province’s leading business association.”
The vote took place at OCC’s annual general meeting last week in Chatham Ontario where Leiba was also recognized with the James G. Carnegie Award for leadership and excellence in chamber management.
