The City of Mississauga is requesting tenders for a large construction contract involving 29 city park sites.
The project involves the removal and disposal of existing playgrounds, and the installation of new ones. The contract also involves additional landscaping work such as drainage and the installation of sod or timber edging.
City buyer Paul Liu told YourMississaugaBiz.com the city has already prequalified three play system suppliers, ABC Company, PlayPower and Little Tikes, the winning bidder must work with. “We want the general contractor to be able to construct eight sites per month,” he said. “We anticipate the 29 sites can not be fully completed this year.”
Liu said the potential completion date is currently expected to be June 30, 2014.
Potential bidders are advised they much have the “ability, capacity, experience, financial strength, resources and personnel to perform the work in accordance with the contract”.
Interested companies are advised that a site meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 10 a.m. at John Bud Cleary Park on Webb Drive.
The deadline for bids is August 13 at 2 p.m.
